On June 17, 2016 Beth L. Barnhard, CELA will be presenting at the Protecting Assets While Qualifying for Medicaid seminar hosted by the National Business Institute (NBI). The seminar is being held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, located at 160 Frontage Road in Newark, New Jersey. Attendees to the full-day seminar will receive 7.2 New Jersey CLE credits, including 1.2 of credits for ethics/professionalism. Attorneys from New York will receive 7.0 CLE credits and Pennsylvania attorneys will receive 6.0 credits. The program has also been approved for credits for financial planners and accountants.
Beth will be presenting two topics at the seminar, including “Applying for Medicaid – The Four Eligibility Requirements,” and “Crisis Planning and Assistance.” The first seminar will address resource eligibility and income eligibility, transfers and penalty periods and estate recovery rules, among other topics. Crisis Planning and Assistance will address exempt transfers under the Medicaid regulations, contesting and appealing penalty periods and crisis planning to children in a penalty period.
