Meyerson, Fox & Conte, P.A. wishes to congratulate Partner Brian E. Shea on a very successful and productive year, which has been capped off by his tireless efforts in helping to create New Jersey’s first ever Guardianship Mentor Program. This program was conducted in cooperation with the Bergen County Bar Association and the Bergen County Surrogate. On November 25, 2024, sixteen attorneys participated in an all-day training program presented by six experienced Attorneys in the Guardianship arena. Each of these presenters will continue to serve as mentors to the program participants who all agreed to take on two pro bono cases, each, as part of the program. These mentors and mentees will help serve our most vulnerable citizens and aid the Court in resolving Guardianship matters which have seen their highest number of filings for all years in which statistics have been recorded.
In addition to helping to shepherd through the Guardianship Mentorship program, the firm is especially proud to celebrate the appointment of Brian as a Trustee to the Bergen County Bar Association. In addition to being selected as Trustee, Brian also serves as the Co-Chair Probate Litigation & Guardianship Committee and Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee. Brian also serves as a member of several other committees. Brian looks forward to continuing his service to the Bar Association and its members in this new role.
In addition to serving as Trustee of the Bergen County Bar Association, Brian was selected to serve on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Brian has lifelong experience in aiding the needs of the disabled and is looking forward to contributing to NAELA’s mission of “improving the quality of legal services provided to older adults and people with disabilities”.
